THANK YOU Aikido South Florida Members!

I would like to thank all the members of Aikido of South Florida for their generous donations to the Hollywood Outreach Crisis Center for the homeless. In the beginning I always thought that these homeless people consciously chose not to be a part of society and just wanted a more simple life with much less responsibilities. As I soon found out during my first service to them, serving food to the homeless, there are many reasons why they are homeless.

Many homeless people are mentally unstable, some are war veterans that cannot afford to live off the government funding, some are people who lost their homes due to the economy and people who are mentally or physically abused that seek some shelter.

Being involved with these charities have opened my eyes to many issues that so many of us have turned a blind eye, yet it all has inspired me and the dojo to be better people- more compassionate people. If only on occasion we all allow ourselves to feel and act on our compassion for the less fortunate men, women and children, it proves we all hope for a better place. Every year, twice a year the dojo contributes to different charities as we all feel it is important to give back- to appreciate everything we have and to be able to share our fortunes, however small, with others.

Lastly, we also received $650 in donations.
